Meet this month’s Member Spotlight, Alexander Sougiannis, PhD, a 4th-year medical student at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Dr. Sougiannis is an active member of the ASIP, the American College of Sports Medicine, and the Greek Scientists Society. He currently serves on the ASIP Education Committee, presented during the 2023 ASIP Young Investigator Seminar Series, and Co-chaired a session at the PISA: Young Investigators Virtual Meeting in 2021.

Meet this month’s Member Spotlight, Vik Meadows, PhD, an IRACDA Postdoctoral Fellow at Rutgers University. Dr. Meadows serves on the ASIP Committee for Equal Representation and Opportunity, as co-leader of the Liver Pathobiology Scientific Interest Group, and co-hosts the Behind Our Science podcast supported by the ASIP and The Histochemical Society with Dr. Daisy Shu and Dr. Roberto Mota Alvidrez.

Meet this month’s Member Spotlight, Pilar Alcaide, PhD, Assistant Dean of Faculty Development, Kenneth and JoAnn G Wellner Professor, and Associate Professor of Immunology at Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Alcaide serves as a co-leader for Women in Pathology and began her term as Vice President of the ASIP this month.

Meet this month’s Member Spotlight, Bethany Hannafon, PhD, Assistant Professor at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Dr. Hannafon has been an ASIP member since 2016 and is a co-leader of the Breast Cancer Scientific Interest Group.

Dr. Mota Alvidrez has been an ASIP member since 2015 and co-hosts the “Behind Our Science” podcast, supported by the ASIP and The Histochemical Society.

Meet this month’s Member Spotlight, Christi L. Kolarcik, PhD, Research Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine (Pittsburgh, PA). Dr. Kolarcik has been an ASIP member since 2007 and serves as Co-chair of the ASIP Neuropathology Scientific Interest Group.
