Meet this month’s Member Spotlight, Dennis Jones, PhD, Assistant Professor at Boston University. Dr. Jones has been an ASIP member since 2018 and has served the Society in several ways including as the Inaugural Early Career Representative to the FASEB Board, as Co-leader of the ASIP Breast Cancer Scientific Interest Group, and on several committees.
Meet this month’s Member Spotlight, Martha Furie, PhD, Professor of Pathology at Stony Brook University (Stony Brook, NY). Dr. Furie has been an ASIP member since 1992 and has served the Society in several ways including as Chair of the Education Committee (2006-09), ASIP President (2011-12), and currently as the Editor-in-Chief of The American Journal of Pathology—the first female to serve in the position since the Journal’s original inception in 1896. Additionally, Dr. Furie received the ASIP Robbins Distinguished Educator Award in 2017.
Meet this month’s Member Spotlight, Verónica Contreras-Shannon, PhD, Professor of Biological Sciences and Director of the MARC U*STAR program at St. Mary’s University (San Antonio, TX). Dr. Contreras-Shannon has been a member since 2005 and is the current Chair for the ASIP Committee for Career Development.
Meet this month’s Members Spotlight, William A Muller, MD, PhD, Professor of Pathology at the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University. Dr. Muller is a longtime ASIP member and recently assumed his position as 2022-2023 President for the Society. He has served on numerous ASIP committees and in 2013 received the ASIP Rous-Whipple Award.
