What’s in a Name?

In January of 2026, the American Society for Investigative Pathology will officially begin to operate as the American Society for Investigative Pathobiology! While the change in our name is subtle (and retains the ASIP acronym), it is also significant and required intense deliberation over time to ensure that the new name would fit our Society at-large, our members (individually and collectively), our mission, and our brand.

Looking Back at Pathobiology 2024

In late April, 234 individuals gathered in Baltimore for Pathobiology 2024 – the Annual Meeting of the American Society for Investigative Pathology (ASIP). Over the course of the four-day meeting, attendees participated in a stimulating scientific program with symposia and poster sessions, educational events, and career development sessions.

Recap: The Inaugural ASIP Leadership Academy

Last fall, we attended the inaugural ASIP Leadership Academy (October 2-4, 2022) and had a blast. There was a dynamic group of around 20 participants at all different career stages–from PhD students to entry level academic faculty positions. Over the course of the 3-day event, we really got to know each other and became a true cohort.
