Pathobiology 2027

On behalf of the American Society for Investigative Pathobiology (ASIP), it is my great pleasure to invite you to Pathobiology 2027, taking place May 1-4, 2027, at the Flamingo Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada. Our annual meeting continues to serve as a premier forum for investigators committed to understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms of disease and translating these discoveries into improved diagnostics and therapeutics.

Pathobiology 2027 introduces an exciting scientific program that reflects the rapidly evolving landscape of health sciences. This year’s program highlights the convergence of immunology, metabolism, regenerative biology, engineering, computational science, and advanced imaging technologies, underscoring the increasingly interdisciplinary nature of modern biomedical research. From fundamental mechanisms of disease to innovative therapeutic strategies, attendees will experience cutting-edge science spanning multiple organ systems and disease processes.

The Program Committee has once again designed the meeting to maximize scientific interaction while fostering meaningful engagement between established investigators and the next generation of researchers. Our meeting structure features two concurrent scientific sessions, allowing attendees to participate broadly across disciplines while promoting lively discussion and collaboration. Many invited symposia will be complemented by abstract-driven presentations from trainees and early-career investigators, providing outstanding opportunities for emerging scientists to showcase their work alongside leaders in the field. Poster sessions remain central to the meeting and will once again be preceded by rapid-fire Poster Blitz presentations that encourage broad participation and scientific exchange.

One of the defining strengths of ASIP is its commitment to supporting trainees and early-career investigators. Through the Society’s Trainee Scholar Awards, Junior Faculty Scholar Awards, career development sessions, networking events, and mentoring opportunities, Pathobiology 2027 provides an environment where young investigators can present their science, establish collaborations, and develop lasting professional relationships.

The scientific program reflects the remarkable breadth of investigative pathobiology while emphasizing emerging concepts that are reshaping biomedical research. Sessions will explore mechanisms underlying metabolic diseases, neuroimmune interactions, cardiovascular pathology, liver disease, mucosal biology, microbiome-host interactions, inflammation, cancer biology, lung disease, and ocular pathology. Across these diverse disciplines, common themes emerge including cellular plasticity, immune-stromal communication, tissue regeneration, multicellular interactions, and the molecular determinants of disease progression and therapeutic response.

Pathobiology 2027 also showcases many of the transformative technologies that are redefining investigative pathology. Sessions will highlight advances in spatial biology, multiplex imaging, organoids and organs-on-chip, artificial intelligence, machine learning, bioinformatics, and systems-level analyses that enable deeper understanding of disease mechanisms across tissues and organ systems.

The meeting will also feature ASIP’s distinguished award lectures delivered by internationally recognized leaders whose pioneering discoveries have advanced investigative pathology. In addition, attendees will participate in the President’s Symposium, scientific interest group sessions, educational workshops, career development activities, networking events, and abstract-driven minisymposia, that together provide an engaging and comprehensive scientific experience.
