The George K. Michalopoulos Junior Faculty Scholar Award is made possible through the generous support of the George K. Michalopoulos Family Fund.
Dr. Mchalopoulos is a long-time member of ASIP, and served as ASIP President from 2016-2017. He was the recipient of the ASIP 2009 Rous-Whipple Award for his distinguished career in research and pioneering contributions to the field of hepatocyte biology.
Officially launched in October 2016 at the PISA 2016 Meeting in Houston, TX, the George K. Michalopoulos Junior Faculty Scholar Award (formerly known as the ASIP Junior Faculty Travel Award) is offered to promote the participation of early career investigators in scientific meetings and conferences. This award recognizes the outstanding research being conducted by ASIP Regular and Next-Generation members who are employed as Junior Faculty at institutions around the world.
