Professional Timeline for Qualification for ASIP Awards

The Experimental Pathologist-in Training (EPIT) Award is a prestigious award presented to an ASIP Post-Doctoral Trainee member (research and clinical fellows) who has excelled in investigative efforts in studying the mechanisms of disease.
Applicants who apply for the EPIT Award will also be considered for ASIP an EPIT Merit Award. Prior recipients of the EPIT and EPIT-Merit Awards may reapply if the work submitted is clearly distinct from the work previously submitted when the first award was given. Consideration will not be given for continuation of the same project.
Eligibility Requirements and Required Supporting Documentation:
1. Be an ASIP Post-Doctoral member in good standing at the time of application submission and through the dates of the meeting.
2. Submit an abstract to Pathobiology 2025 to one (or more) ASIP Topic Categories by the established deadline.
3. Submit an extended research report (this report should not exceed 750 words nor include more than one table and one figure).
4. Submit a Letter of Recommendation from a supervisor, colleague, etc. attesting to the applicants work role and potential as a biomedical research investigator.
5. Submit a current copy of your Curriculum Vitae (CV).
6. Register for the meeting by the established deadline.
Attendance during the full meeting is mandatory. The Experimental Pathologist-in Training (EPIT) award will be rescinded if the awardee is not present.Recipients of an EPIT or EPIT-Merit Award will receive a cash award, certificate, and complimentary meeting registration.
