Welcome!

Welcome to the first Newsletter for 2014!

The American Society for Investigative Pathology and the ASIP Committee for Career Development, Women, and Minorities are the proud sponsors of the ASIP Trainee Newsletter.

In this issue, we are pleased to present a Q & A with James Fikes, who was a panelist for the Committee for Career Development, Women & Minorities Workshop and Breakfast at the ASIP 2013 Annual Meeting at Experimental Biology. Jim’s experience as a toxicological pathologist at AstraZeneca affords unique insight into the field of biopharmaceutical drug discovery and development, and will inspire trainees interested in a non-traditional career opportunity in pathology.

Our Hot off the Press segment features the article "Role of bile acids in liver injury and regeneration following acetaminophen overdose," by trainee Bharat Bhushan. In addition, you can read about the recent accomplishments of our trainees in the Trainee Milestone section.

We are committed to showcasing the excellence of our trainees, so please remember to keep us updated on any promotions, grant funding, dissertation/thesis defenses, publications, awards, etc., that you receive.

Send us your updates, comments and suggestions at asiptrainees@gmail.com.

See you in San Diego!
