This workshop will provide an introduction to
principles of bioethics and current United States federal regulations for
the protection of human subjects involved in research. There will be
particular emphasis on use of human biological materials in research, the
roles of Institutional Review Boards, when informed consent is required,
interpretation of HIPAA, and how institutions can develop comprehensive
programs to effectively protect human subjects and simultaneously conduct
good scientific research.
Note: There is no charge for this session, but seating is limited so
you must register to attend.
