Minority
Trainee Travel Awards to attend the ASIP 2008 Summer Academy The
FASEB Minority Access to Research Careers (MARC) Program awarded ASIP
funding to promote the entry of under-represented minority scientists and
minority-serving institutions into the mainstream of the basic science
community and to encourage the participation of young investigative
pathologists at the ASIP 2008 Summer Academy. Successful applicants were
reimbursed up to $1,550 in travel costs associated with conference
attendance and participation. These funds were meant to defray
hotel, air, ground transportation, and course registration.
The 2008 ASIP Minority Trainee Travel Awards
were funded by a grant from
the National Institute of General Medical Sciences, National Institutes
