Trainee Milestones and Updates

We would like to congratulate Prince Awuah, a PhD candidate and ASIP Trainee at the University of Pittsburgh, for his recent publication in PloS One entitled "Beta-Catenin Loss in Liver leads to a Paradoxical rise in HCC after Diethylnitrosamine and Phenobarbital administration."

Prince received an A.D. Sobel - ASIP Education Award to attend the XXXI Congress of the Società Italiana di Patologia e Medicina Traslazionale and an NIH F31 award. Prince serves on the ASIP Membership Committee.

Congratulations to Kristine Wadosky, a PhD candidate at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, for receiving a predoctoral fellowship from the American Heart Association Mid Atlantic affiliate. Her proposal was entitled "Regulation of thyroid hormone-dependent cardiac hypertrophy by muscle RING finger-1 (MuRF1)-specific control of thyroid receptor alpha-1."
