2006 ASIP Journal CME Program in Pathogenesis
Mark E. Sobel, MD, PhD, Director of Journal CME Programs

Objectives
:  Participants of the ASIP Journal CME Program in Pathogenesis should be able to demonstrate an increase in, or confirmation of their knowledge of the pathogenesis of disease after reviewing specific articles in The American Journal of Pathology (AJP).

Participants:  This program is specifically developed for clinicians and for researchers investigating the mechanisms of disease who wish to advance their current knowledge of the cellular and molecular biology of disease.

CME Credit: This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) and the American Society for Investigative Pathology (ASIP).  FASEB is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. FASEB designates this educational activity for up to 50 credit hours in category 1 credit towards the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. To receive credit, participants must answer questions based on selected articles in Volumes 168 and 169 of The American Journal of Pathology (calendar year 2006) and achieve a cumulative score of at least 75% (correct answers to at least 38 of the 50 questions in the annual program) in addition to completing an evaluation form.

Disclosure Policy: The Federation requires that participants of FASEB-sponsored educational programs be informed of an author’s academic and professional affiliation and the existence of any significant financial interest or other relationship with the manufacturer(s) of any commercial product(s) mentioned in the educational activity.  This policy allows the reader to be fully knowledgeable in evaluating the information being presented. Disclosure includes any relationship that may bias one’s representation or which, if known, could give the perception of bias.  The American Journal of Pathology requires that authors certify any affiliations (e.g., employment, consultancies, stock ownership, honoraria, expert testimony) with any organization or entity with a direct financial interest in the subject matter or materials discussed in the article. Any such disclosures shall be indicated on the question sheets for this continuing medical education journal program.
